Hey again. Just catching up on reading your posts. The pain that you went through with your CI is not unfamiliar. When my CI failed a few years ago, I got a newer technology CI, and I went through similar pains that you went through. Certain sounds sounded awful, and I had some headaches. I just lowered the volume and the sensitivity, and it helped greatly. Overtime, I was able to increase the sensitivity and the volume as I got used to the new sounds.

Give yourself some time to understand the sounds. Nothing happens overnight. Also, the progress of hearing with a CI varies from person to person and so, I wouldn't compare your experiences with someone else's. From looking at your tests results from last May, I have to say that the results are great for three months post-activation! So, like I said, just be patient and continue to wear your CI when you can.
